Old Verlucians “jailbreak”
Former pupils Haley Morgan, Louis Maxwell and Bethan Roberts (2013), all current second year students at the University of Exeter, recently took part in a charity “jailbreak”. This fundraising event involves teams of students competing to travel as far away from Exeter as possible in thirty hours without using any of their own money. Collectively, the event raised thousands of pounds for ExeterRAG's chosen charities: Mind, Foodbank and Exeter Student Volunteers.
Under the highly appropriate team name Old Verlucians and dressed as superheroes, the trio made it as far as Brussels, travelling a total of 553.9km by car, bus and train. More details can be found on the team's blog.
Haley summed up their adventure, “We had a fantastic experience. It was such a great way to spend time with old school friends. Our friendship was really put to the test as it was such a exhausting and mentally draining experience, but I am sure we all agree we would not have wanted to share it with anyone else!”
Congratulations to Haley, Louis and Bethan for their efforts.
