WORLD BOOK DAY 2017

Pupils from Nursery to Sixth Form enjoyed and celebrated twenty years of World Book Day by bringing their favourite book characters to life.
There were some fabulous and imaginative costumes from staff and pupils alike. Mrs Harris was unrecognisable as Miss Trunchball and Ms Davies chilling, as the Woman in Black. Mr Hill our new Head of Mathematics entered into the spirit of the occasion making his World Book debut as a fabulous Cat in the Hat and congratulations to the Modern Languages Department for a tremendous team effort with their costumes too.
Year 7 set off on a murder mystery treasure trail with Mr Moxham and Mr Rossiter allowing their names to be taken in vain! In the Library, there was a fiendish visual quiz organised by Mrs Field, to guess the title of a selection of books. Emily Throckmorton had collated a display of book illustrations for pupils to comment on which was also on display in the Library. The English Department ran a variety of quizzes and word games for the pupils with prizes being awarded to the winners.
Over in Prep, Mr Titley led the way as Tabby McTat and Mrs Butterworth as the Bear from 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' with a merry troupe of hunters on her tail throughout the day.
Mrs Parrack, the Ringmaster of World Book Day at Warminster said, “May I thank all the staff and pupils who made the effort to dress up. All money raised will be donated to the Warminster MS Centre. The winners of the costume prizes will be announced next week so watch this space!”
