U8 & U9 HOCKEY & RUGBY FESTIVAL

On a bright sunny morning, Warminster School hosted the third U8 & U9 Hockey and Rugby Festival. It was even bigger than last year! Eleven schools brought a variety of teams for the event; in total approximately 300 children took part and added to this, another 400 parents. Our brilliant Chef, Alex Rall, and his dedicated catering team served over 1500 hotdogs, burgers and bacon rolls! A great big thank you to all involved with this.
So much sport was played and hopefully every child learnt something new on the day. For many children this was their first ever match for their school. I tried to remember how this would feel but struggle to remember that far back. I was told about one small boy who, from the moment he woke up, wore his gum shield in his mouth so he was ready for his matches, I suppose you could not store it in a better place.
I would also like to thank Graham Kitley and the grounds staff, parking squad, school nurse, programme organiser and so many more people. It was a wonderful morning which I hope was enjoyed by all.
