THOMAS ARNOLD LECTURE SERIES

THOMAS ARNOLD LECTURE SERIES

We are pleased to announce a selection of presentations which have been arranged as part of the Thomas Arnold Lecture Series  for 2016/17.

The aim of this programme is to provide our community with access to speakers from a diverse range of careers and backgrounds who will share their interests and expertise. Past speakers have included Lord Peter Hennessy, a leading historian and political scientist, Nick Jenkins an entrepreneur and member of the Dragon’s Den TV panel and Michael Eavis the Founder of Glastonbury Festival. Each lecture is followed by a Q & A session, with the opportunity to meet the speaker and other guests over drinks and canapes.

Amongst the highlights this year we will hear from Sir Hayden Philips (29 September) a leading civil servant, Chris Lubbe (30 November) a former body guard of Nelson Mandela and an eminent war historian, Professor Gary Sheffield (26 April).

Any suggestions or volunteers to speak as part of this programme are most welcome. Please contact Graeme McQueen on 01985 210122.

To book your place for any of the above lectures please confirm with Jenni Blair how many seats you would like to reserve and for which lecture. We look forward to seeing you at one of the lectures.
