THE GREAT OUTDOORS

There is always a buzz around the Sixth Form Centre as the first weekend of term approaches bringing with it the much anticipated annual bonding weekend for our Lower Sixth. This year our pupils enjoyed an action packed weekend in Swanage, courtesy of the outdoor expeditions company Land and Wave.
In glorious weather and calm seas, pupils were treated to a range of different activities, including kayaking, jumbo paddle boarding, archery, axe throwing, and woodland fire-craft. Whilst Dr Underwood and Mrs Nurdin kept a close eye on proceedings from the shoreline, Mr Hill, Dr Martin and Miss Beach-MacGeagh impressively braved the water! The pupils had a fantastic time, not only developing new skills and sporting prowess but also lifelong lessons in teamwork, collaboration and leadership. In the calm surrounds of Harrow House, it was wonderful to watch a year group move from a collection of new and returning Warminster pupils into a cohesive year group. New friendships were formed, and it was particularly encouraging to see all pupils wanting to get involved in all of the different activities.
The weekend, as always, created a lifetime of memories, and has set a very promising precedent for things to come. Everyone agreed that it was simply the best way to start their Sixth Form experience and are looking forward to the next social event in what promises to be an action packed year for them all. Good luck our new Lower Sixth!
