THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF SUPERSTAN

Last week Year 5 and 6 royally entertained a packed house with their fantastic version of a new musical 'The Amazing Adventures of Superstan' based on the Marvel Comics.
Stanley Marvel (Alex Robinson) may be the clumsiest clot in Megaville, but he's happy to read his comics and dream his life away. That is until it's turned upside-down when he discovers that local hero, The Candy King, is actually a Super-Villain determined to conquer the world with his corrupt confectionery! Ben Wagstaff marvelously fulfilled this role, receiving shouts of 'boo' every time he entered the stage. His hired sidekicks, Curly and Wurly (Archie Mclaren and Rachael Shepherd), brought humour as they tried to control the citizens with hypnotic gobstoppers and a giant remote control.
Stan knows Megaville is in need of a Superhero. But when his crazy Gran and her crumbly chums reveal an earth-shattering secret, Stan's shocked to discover his own true identity! With a dose of secret formula from his Gran (Anna Galpin) and a pair of fantastic elastic anti-gravity underpants, Stanley Marvel takes to the skies as the greatest Superhero the world has ever known. Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it's Superstan (Charlie Godfrey-Faussett), a caped crusader fighting for truth, freedom and justice with his super powers, super tights and the strength to open a really tricky jar of pickles!
The jokes and lively music brought the house down both nights. A firm favourite of all those who performed was certainly 'Fantastic, elastic, anti-gravity pants'. The tune remained in everyone's heads for days afterwards! The childrens' performance was superb and their organisation and determination in rehearsals and prop building should be commended! Well done to all involved.
