Christopher Kemble is a Fine Art and Photography teacher at Warminster School and has been with the Art Department for 18 months. Prior to Warminster, he worked at Victoria College, Jersey and also as a designer in the creative industries for eight years. He is married to Nichola, with two young children Grace and Lewis, who both attend the Prep School. How long have you worked at Warminster?

18 months.

What’s the best thing about your role?

Inspiring pupils to feed their creativity and urging them to explore their imaginations.

Describe a typical day?

Fun, fun, fun!

What do you think makes Warminster a special place to live and learn?

Everyone is super friendly and supportive. A real community feel!

What would surprise us about you?

In my younger years I competed in surfing at national and European levels and have surfed all over Europe, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia. I am also a qualified surf instructor and surf lifesaver. I am also a recipient of a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

A Fireman.

Your note/advice to teenage self?

You can aspire to become anything, even if others tell you differently.

Biggest bugbear?

Traffic and drivers who don’t indicate! (sorry that’s two)

Favourite musician/group?

I have a very broad and open taste in music. Depends on my mood and the environment I’m in.

Guilty pleasure?

Monster Munch Pickled Onion Crisps.

If you were on Masterchef what would your signature dish be?

Prawn & Pea Risotto.

Favourite tipple?

Jersey Milk.

Favorite place/city in the world and why?

Mentawi Islands, Indonesia. Because of the quiet, tranquil, warm water, uncrowded waves and amazing friendly people.
