SPEECH DAY

SPEECH DAY

Welcome to Speech Day!

There will be the usual formal events of the day, on Saturday 27 May, which include the Commemoration Service, Open Morning Showcase, Speeches and Prize Giving, followed by lunch. To access the full programme please click here>

The prizes this year will be presented by John Baddeley, who is an Old Verlucian who can be seen in the Warminster Distilled film earlier this year.  John left Warminster School, where he was Head of Ken, in 1951 and joined the RAF as a National Serviceman, where he worked in Radar Calibration. He later attended a Drama School in Birmingham, which led to him working in various theatres in the Midlands and for the BBC.  John has acted in London, America, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, and Germany, and his favourite roles include Bottom in A Midsummer-Night’s Dream and Davies in The Caretaker. He holds the plays he performed in School close to his heart as they set him on his career path, which he has enjoyed greatly.
