SIXTH FORMERS BRIGHTEN UP NURSERY
A few artistic Sixth Formers rose to a challenge set by Mrs Cross, to brighten up the walls of the Courtyard Nursery’s outdoor classroom area.
Mrs Cross explained that she would like some murals that would tie in with this term’s topic about the rainforest, but would also not be too specific so that they would work as a general enhancement to the area in the future. Former Prep pupil Emily Griffiths volunteered to coordinate the work and roped in the support of fellow artists Emily Storey-Walker, Natalie Wilkins and Charlotte Brumby.
Nursery and Reception children watched in delight as the murals took shape over the course of two or three weeks and are now enjoying playing in the beautifully transformed outdoor area. Head of Pre-Prep, Gill Cross, said “It has been wonderful to see girls who I remember teaching when they were in Reception, coming back to help current Reception children and this epitomises the lovely family feel that we have here at Warminster. I am also incredibly grateful that these young people juggled this task with sitting exams at GCSE and A level and did so happily and willingly. They are a credit to the School.”
