SENIOR SPORTS AWARDS
On the 14th May, we celebrated the return of our Senior Sports Awards after 3 years away.
Basking in the glorious sunshine, the evening began with a drink's reception for our Upper 6th pupils, before everyone made their way into the hall, rushing to see the seating plan and ready to start the main proceedings.
Our guest speaker this year was Pamela Cookey, former England, and Team Bath netball player. She spoke about her journey through sport, to reach the pinnacle of her sport. She told the pupils how she overcame adversity, through injury to realise her dream.
The awards are always a highlight of the evening with Players Player of the Year Awards and Coaches Player of the Year. The sports covered all our major sports throughout the school year.
The major awards are highly sought after and are always the final ones of the night. The winners this year are below.
Symington Trophy – Adam Wagstaff
Service to Sport Girls – Megan Galpin & Imogen Brumby
Service to Sport Boys – Oliver Hall
Team of the Year – 1st VI Boys Tennis
My sincere thanks go to the whole PE & Games department for everything they do, to our grounds team who make it possible to play all our fixtures through wind, rain and sunshine, to our catering department for keeping our pupils fed and watered, Jon Edkins for capturing everything on camera and to everyone who has played a part in sport this year.
