SENIOR SPORTS AWARDS 2020

SENIOR SPORTS AWARDS 2020

This year, our 2020 Senior Sports Awards were expertly presented to camera by Mr Watts, and captured effortlessly by Yellow Balloon Films.

In the early evening sun, our Astro pitch and Boniface House provided the perfect backdrop. Mr Watts, suitably dressed for the formalities of an award ceremony, thanked pupils for their efforts and wished those leaving school this year, the best of luck.

“I want to thank you, the pupils, for all your efforts, commitment, perseverance and enjoyment that you bring to sport at Warminster. I have loved being a part of your journey this year, whether coaching or merely watching from the side lines, it has been a real pleasure. You have all been outstanding and we have missed seeing you around school. To those of you who move on this summer, I wish you all the very best for the future. You will always be OVs, and we look forward to welcoming you back at the OV day of sport and many other events that the school hosts. I thank you for all you have done for sport at Warminster, it has been a joy to watch you evolve and grow over these past two years.”

Mr Watts left viewers with these important words, taking on even more importance after the weeks of restrictions and lockdown:

“Don’t take the sport you play for granted. Every time you play, be thankful that you get to do something you love. Don’t show up to training complaining about not wanting to be there and that you can’t be bothered. You are there hopefully because you get enjoyment from it. Work hard every moment and if you don’t work hard, do you deserve to play? Play every game and every training session like it is your last, because it very well could be. When you finally reach that day when you can no longer do what you once could, then you will know how much you love something that you once took for granted.”

As ever, HUGE thanks to Yellow Balloon.
