RESULTS DAY 2020 – A LEVELS

RESULTS DAY 2020 – A LEVELS

We are delighted with the A Level results released this morning and that they reflect the hard work of the pupils throughout the last two years. It is also pleasing that the professionalism and knowledge of the pupils that Warminster School staff have shown has been recognised by the exam boards in the vast majority of outcomes.

Knowing that this was a strong academic cohort, we are thrilled that our pupils achieved a 97% pass rate, as well as two thirds of grades being awarded at A*-B. On average, pupils achieved ABB securing places at top universities, including local pupils: Charlie who is off to Birmingham to study medicine; Ben who will be embarking on a course studying aeronautical engineering at Loughborough; Lainey who will begin studying cellular and molecular medicine at Bristol; Maddie who will study geography at Queen's Belfast; Alex who will study mathematics at Bath; Oliver who is off to Loughborough to study politics and Toby who will start in Birmingham to study Music Technology.

Headmaster, Matt Williams says: “In my first year as Headmaster, I have been blessed with a fantastic Upper Sixth cohort, who thoroughly deserve to have achieved at a high level. They have had the most unfortunate end to their time at Warminster, but have dealt with the last few months stoically and with great resolve and optimism. I am delighted that their futures look bright, despite the uncertainty of the present and the difficulties of the past. They are a special group and I wish them well until we meet again.”

Having not been able to celebrate the end of their studies at Warminster School, we wish all departing Upper Sixth pupils the very best of luck in whatever their futures may hold and look forward to seeing them at the next available Old Verlucian event.
