publish DAY
No amount of rain dampened the spirits of our many visitors on Saturday 6th October. It was a popular date for Open Days across the south west of England so we were delighted to welcome so many potential new pupils and their families. Indeed, Thomas Arnold hall was packed with excited children and interested parents, all keen to learn if Warminster School was the one!
The Headmaster opened proceedings with a message to all present to ask questions of their tour guides, the more probing the better! He reiterated just how important it is to look closely at the relationships between our pupils and staff and reminded parents that a follow up visit to see the school in ‘action’ provides an even bigger picture of the all-round education Warminster School has to offer. Of course, the Headmaster acknowledged that no school can meet the needs of every child, and so it is essential to explore the many ways a school might or might not be the ‘right fit’. A key part of this is appreciating not just what a school can do for a child but what they in turn can contribute, whether it be in the classroom, on the sports pitch, wielding a paint brush or playing a musical instrument. At Warminster School, as the Headmaster reminded us (as he mentioned his three favourite words 'why not you?') the emphasis is on taking part and getting stuck in.
On behalf of the School, the Admissions team would like to thank all the many staff and pupils who took part so energetically in our Open Day, not least Alex Rall and his team who laid on an extensive and delicious buffet lunch to feed the many hungry mouths at the end of the morning. It was a great day for the School and judging by so many compliments received both on the day and in follow up emails it seems safe to say it was a success.
