Pre-Prep Sports Day 2015

Pre-Prep Sports Day 2015

Earlier this month we held our Pre-Prep Sports Day. Having had a dry start to the day we decided to ignore forecasts of wet weather and go ahead with the event. We were therefore rather dismayed to feel a slight amount of drizzle as we lined up in our house teams ready to begin.

The weather became wetter as we competed in our round robin of field events but, like the true sporting heroes we are, we didn’t let it get the better of us and ploughed on with the competition. We were excited to be able to include a high jump element to this year’s activities and the children loved using our new mat. Other events were hurdles, distance throwing, bean bag aiming, quoit balancing and football dribbling.

Fortunately the rain didn’t get too heavy and soon dried up, meaning we were able to move onto the track events and complete the races. The children were, as always, amazing. We saw some real sporting talent; children who were determined to try their best and above all, great sportsmanship and all this from children who range in age from just three to seven!

Many congratulations to Joshua Knight and Janey Godfrey-Faussett who won the Victor/Victrix Ludorum cup.
