Pre-prep pupils visit Penguin Island

Just before half-term, the children in Reception class spent the morning at Longleat visiting Penguin Island. This trip was to reinforce and build on work they have already done for their penguins topic this term.

The experience of seeing the penguins had the children literally jumping with excitement when we arrived. They were able to feed them and had a talk from three of the keepers who told them lots of interesting facts about penguins and also gave them the opportunity to ask questions. The children also went outside where they were able to walk through the penguin enclosure and touch them or give them a stroke. We finished the outing with a snack which, of course, had to be a Penguin biscuit!
