PILA 2017

PILA 2017

A party of 36 children, parents and staff left Warminster Prep on Saturday 25 March on a huge coach ready for the slopes of Pila resort in Italy. The coach trip was problem free, much sleeping, laughing and more sleeping. Luckily no travel sickness!

There was some snowfall before we arrived which left the slopes in great shape for the group.  The beginners were up on the main slopes after two and a half days so any sugary snow was left lower down. The whole group was advancing well and it was sunny every day and everyone returned home with a healthy glow!

We had all levels of skiers in the groups and much was learnt by all.  The advanced skiers were completing over 30km a day on their ski app and the beginners by the end of the week were skiing more than 10km each day. We only had one injury to a parent on her knee but she dealt with this very well and she still enjoyed the rest of her week.

Evening entertainments were enjoyed by all members of the group including bowling, pizza eating, ice cream eating and tubing (fast action packed sliding on an inflated tyre!).  On the last evening all members of the group were presented with certificates from ski school and special ones from Mr Fothergill and Mrs Butterworth.  Many jokes were told and funny situations reminded to the group.

A great week was enjoyed by the whole group and we look forward to next year’s trip.
