MASHY’S MARCHERS

MASHY’S MARCHERS

Last month, we lost our good friend and former colleague, Stuart Morgan-Nash to cancer.  Stuart (Mashy, to his colleagues) was one of life's good guys. He had a smile that could light up a room and a twinkle in his eye.  He was larger than life and loved by everyone, not least the thousands of children he taught over the years.

Stuart was a Warminster School parent and much-loved former Deputy Head of Warminster Prep. He was a devoted family man, a good friend to many and an inspirational teacher.  The impact on our close-knit community is significant and he will be greatly missed.

In the short time that Stuart had following his diagnosis, Dorothy House Hospice offered much needed support and guidance to the Morgan-Nash family.  Many of his former colleagues at Warminster School wanted to do something collectively to remember Stuart in a way that would benefit a cancer research charity or hospice and the Bath Rugby Walk ticked all the boxes.

Matthew Fothergill, Head of Key Stage 2 and organiser of Mashy's Marchers said, "Stuart leaves an enormous hole in the lives of us all, but our loss is nothing compared to that of his wife, Nikki, and three children, India, Ella and Austin. Mashy's Marchers will be walking on 23rd February from Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley, to the Bath Recreation ground, the home of Bath Rugby, where we will raise a glass and enjoy a pie in Stuart's honour. Stuart loved a pie and Bath Rugby - so this is perfect. We can all come together, remember Stuart and raise funds for a wonderful charity."
