WARMINSTER A LEVEL RESULTS
A Level pupils at Warminster School have huge cause for celebration today as they receive their long anticipated results. In what has been a difficult few years for all pupils nationally, the pupils have worked exceptionally hard to gain the results that they fully deserve and will allow them to move on to the next stages of their lives.
Particular congratulations go to: Harry Marshall who has achieved A*AA and will now study Directing at Plymouth; Head Girl Thea Knight who will now study Art History and Visual Culture with Modern Languages at Exeter having achieved A*A*A*; Charlotte Robinson who achieved AAA and will embark on a Law with French and French Law course at Nottingham; Matthew Hodgson will begin Army Officer Training having achieved A* and two Distinctions and Annabelle Jackett who having gained A*AB will begin a course in Art.
This follows on from our fantastic IB results which were published in July and included Ander Banuelos Aramburu who is off to Edinburgh to read Computer Science and Thiago Egner who will begin at UCL studying Information Management for Business.
An overall pass rate of 99% with 40% of grades at A* or A is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the pupils who really engaged well during two significant periods of online learning.
Head of Sixth Form, Gill Walmsley, said "I am truly delighted with this year’s results, especially following such a turbulent 18 months. I am excited for our pupils as they begin new chapters in their lives".
Headmaster, Matt Williams, commented: "As we hopefully start to pull out of the disruption to education caused by the pandemic, we shouldn't underestimate how hard pupils and teachers have worked to maintain focus and continuity of learning. Our pupils at Warminster, guided by exceptional teachers, have achieved the grades they deserved, and we are extremely proud of them all. With increased uncertainty about what the future holds for young people in terms of Higher Education and careers, it is wonderful to know that our pupils will be able to open a wide range of doors with the rigorous and broad education that Warminster School provides."
