A LEVEL RESULTS 2019
Warminster pupils have cause to celebrate today as they reap the rewards for their hard work. They can be particularly satisfied to have achieved so well after A Level reforms introduced linear assessment for all subjects. The School is delighted that top grades were achieved in art, photography, French, design technology and geography. These results have allowed our pupils to gain places on demanding courses at competitive universities, including many Russell Group universities.
These positive A Level results combine with our pleasing International Baccalaureate (IB) results that were published in July. The School is proud that our average remains inline with the worldwide average for IB Diploma schools.
Top performing pupils include Katherine Caldwell, from Devizes, Wiltshire, who achieved A*A*A; Benjamin James, from Frome, Somerset, gaining A*AB and Robbie Maclean, from Devizes, Wiltshire, achieving ABB in his A Levels, aswell as a distinction in his OCR Cambridge Technical. In July, Head Girl, Lucie Brinker, achieved an excellent 33 IB points.
Hard work and academic dedication by the pupils alongside a packed co-curricular programme paid off in the form of positive results which mean that the great majority of the leavers of 2019 have, despite tough competition at top universities this year, secured a place at their chosen university. This is despite a national drop in number of pupils expected to start university this summer. The School wishes them every success with their future studies.
Headmaster, Mark Mortimer commented “I am very proud of the pupils who have received their results today. In most cases, they have fulfilled their potential and have been rewarded for their dedication and hard work. I am particularly delighted that the great majority are going to their first choice university to study a wide range of subjects that are right for them.”
