Netball and hockey festival

On Saturday, Warminster School hosted a wonderful morning of sport for local prep schools. It was very cold and had rained a great deal overnight. However, the rain stayed away while the children were playing.

There were five schools in the girls' High Five Netball festival and six schools in the boys' in2hockey festival. Overall there were eight teams in each event. Warminster School were delighted to host All Hallows, Chafyn Grove, Forres Sandle Manor, Hazlegrove, Port Regis and Salisbury Cathedral School.

Mrs Gay Butterworth, Head of Prep Sport, remarked “As this was a festival no scores were recorded. The children were able to enjoy netball or hockey without the pressure of results. The children and parents were entertained and fed in the Thomas Arnold Hall, a wonderful venue for bacon rolls, match teas and keeping warm from the winter weather!”

There were many exciting matches and much was learned by all participants throughout the morning. In the autumn Warminster School will host an Under 8 and Under 9 festival for rugby and girls' hockey.
