A HELPING HAND

Laetitia Saquet, our colleague from Collège Elisée Mousnier in Cognac, likes it here at Warminster School so much that she came back in her school holiday to offer French support in the MFL department last week!
GCSE, A level and IB pupils were grateful for her extra support as they are currently preparing for their external speaking examinations. She worked with individuals to offer practical help and support in terms of pronunciation, intonation and authentic vocabulary. It was great to have another native speaker in the department to provide the extra support just when it was needed most.
Madame Saquet's daughter, Rachel, who is 8 years old and visited Warminster School last year, joined Mrs Crinion's Year 3 class where she re-joined the English friends she had made last year. Mrs Crinion was amazed at how well she integrated into the class, with help from her English buddies, and how quickly she was taking part in all the activities. In addition to taking part in all the academic lessons during her time here, she also joined the class for their weekly swimming lesson which she really enjoyed as it's not something she gets to do at school in France. However, her favourite activity was spending the afternoon with her English friends at our Forest School.
Nicola Rogers, Head of MFL said “We really enjoy working with Madame Saquet and all her colleagues and pupils at the Collège Elisée Mousnier and are already looking forward to our next exchange visit there in October.”
