Ivy House
We are delighted to announce that the School has purchased Ivy House, the former St Denys Retreat Centre adjacent to the School on Church Street. It will become a new girls’ boarding house from September, to be called Ivy House.
It is an impressive and spacious building, originally 18th century, and is a splendid acquisition for the School. One of its attractions is its beautiful and large garden that backs on to the gardens of St Denys and Stratton Houses. These grounds will be opened out to create a superb, landscaped area at the heart of the School’s boarding community.
The Headmaster said “I am delighted that the School now owns such a tremendous building. The closure of the Retreat Centre last year was a sad moment, but this historic building will have a new lease of life, albeit somewhat noisier, as a home-from-home for some of our younger girls.”
