IB RESULTS 2024
International Baccalaureate pupils at Warminster today celebrate their IB Diploma and IB Career-Related Programme results.
There have been many great individual accomplishments, but as a cohort they have achieved a brilliant average IB score of 31.6 points, which once again sits above the global average of 30.32. This achievement included pupils being awarded their Career-Related Programme certificates, Diplomas, and Bilingual Diplomas (having completed the IB programme in their second language).
Alice Haworth scored an impressive 36 IB points which, in UCAS terms, is equivalent to around A*A*AA at A Level (212 UCAS points). Emilia Planert was close behind on a brilliant 34 IB points. The overall average UCAS tariff for this year’s cohort is 164 points which is equivalent to roughly A*A*A.
Their results are fully deserved and will allow our IB pupils to move on to the next stage of their lives, which includes, for several, an exciting Gap Year, and, for many, several top UK and European universities.
IB Coordinator, Simon Hall, said “We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their performance in this year’s IB exams. Their results are a reflection of their hard work, perseverance and dedication to their studies. The IB programme is renowned for its challenging curriculum and its emphasis on critical thinking, inquiry, creativity, service and international-mindedness. Our pupils have demonstrated these qualities in abundance, so their success is well-deserved. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to our exceptional IB teachers. Their tireless efforts, expertise, and unwavering support have been instrumental in guiding our pupils to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. Being awarded an IB diploma is always a huge achievement for each pupil, but it is definitely a collective effort by the entire IB pupil and teaching team of which I am honoured to have been a part. I wish all IB pupils well, leaving Warminster as thoughtful, informed and compassionate global citizens.”
Headmaster, Matt Williams, said “The IB is undoubtedly a world class qualification and this year’s cohort have done us proud yet again. Our IB pupils have shown a real commitment and passion for their studies and have set themselves up for very bright futures. They have been a wonderful group of young people who have really benefitted from the breadth of academic study and international perspective that is embedded within the IB. As the IB continues to thrive at Warminster School, it is heartening to see the comparison with A Levels, where our pupils are gaining on average the equivalent of A*A*A.”
