READY FOR THE 21ST CENTURY WORKPLACE
We are delighted to launch a third Sixth Form programme to run alongside the already successful A Level and International Baccalaureate Diploma line-up.
Having been a successful IB World School for over a decade, we will introduce the relatively new International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP), from September next year. This is a hybrid programme incorporating both academic and vocational aspects. Pupils choosing to follow the IBCP will have the opportunity to study between two and four Diploma subjects, joining their IBDP peers for these lessons, as well as following a professional qualification. The professional qualifications that will be on offer are the OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma in Art and Design, Business and Sport. The final strand of the IBCP is a Core Program which consists of Service Learning, Language Development, Personal and Professional Skills and The Reflective Project.
The Headmaster commented, “I am very excited by the addition of the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme to our sixth form curriculum. It dovetails nicely with the IB Diploma Programme that we have offered here for more than ten years. The CP’s blend of academic and vocational gives pupils greater flexibility and reflects the changing landscape of post-16 education. I am confident that the course will also help change the out-dated, unhelpful and inaccurate perception of vocational training that is still all too common. As only the second HMC school in the country to offer the IBCP, I am proud that Warminster School is leading the way in adapting to the needs of the 21st century workplace.”
Pupils or parents wishing to learn more about the IBCP should contact Dr Matthew Harris, IB Co-ordinator.
