IB RESULTS
International Baccalaureate pupils at Warminster have huge cause for celebration today as they receive their long anticipated IB Diploma and Career-Related Programme results. In what has been a difficult few years for young people worldwide, our pupils have worked exceptionally hard to gain the results that they fully deserve, and which will allow them to move on to the next stages of their lives.
Against a world average of 33 points, Warminster IB Diploma pupils have scored an average of over 35 points, including a 100% pass rate; an exceptional achievement by this year’s cohort. Outgoing Finch House Captain, Ander Bañuelos Aramburu, scored an outstanding 44 points (45 points being the maximum available) which, in UCAS terms, is equivalent to over five A* grades at A Level and puts him in the top 1.5% of pupils worldwide. School prefects, Thiago Egner and Vida Kalogjera also performed exceptionally well gaining 42 and 39 points respectively.
The overall average UCAS tariff for this year's cohort is over 212 points which is equivalent to A*A*A*A at A Level.
As well as the fantastic IB Diploma results, our IB Career-Related Programme pupils also gained a 100% pass rate and move on to the courses of their choice.
IB Coordinator, Catherine Wilson, said “I am delighted that our IB2 pupils have been rewarded for their hard work with outstanding grades this year and send every one of them my warmest congratulations and very best wishes for the future. I would also like to thank our IB Teachers for their dedication and exceptional work in supporting our pupils so successfully through their IB Diploma and IB Career-related Certificate Programmes.”
Headmaster, Matt Williams, added “After such a disrupted two years of study it is wonderful to see our IB pupils perform so well and achieve our highest ever points average. There has been much talk in the media of needing to 'catch up', but here at Warminster our pupils have always kept forging ahead and these results are testament to the hard work and resilience of pupils and staff alike. The IB Diploma and CP courses are fantastic qualifications which allow a breadth of study, and international perspective that set our pupils up for a truly global future.”
