HORSES, HATS AND HIP-HOP!

HORSES, HATS AND HIP-HOP!

Warminster’s Sixth Formers chose the theme ‘Alice in Wonderland’  for their Summer Ball this year. It was a fantastic evening, with wonderful food (as always) and great company. The Sixth Form looked incredibly elegant in their dinner jackets and ball gowns, and Emily Storey-Walker certainly made an entrance on General  riding side-saddle in a ball gown!

The trimming of the marquee, coordinated by Reed Webb and Emily Griffiths, ably supported by their team of decorators, led by Haylery Arter, to look like scenes from the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party,  all made for a wonderful celebratory atmosphere.

After dinner, guests were treated to a disco by London Disc Jockey, DJ Sammie  whose eclectic mix and hip-hop tunes made for a thoroughly entertaining evening. The ‘Snapinabox’ photo booth was the highlight for many, with costumes and poses making for some very interesting memories of the night! Alongside all of this, guests enjoyed the Chocolate Fountain, Coconut Shy and Hook a Duck stalls.

Dr. Horler-Underwood, Head of Sixth Form said, “It was clear that a fantastic evening was had by all. The speeches by Head Boy and Girl, Max Trusler and Esther Kirrage reminded everyone of the journey they have taken over the last 12 months and of a very positive year we have all enjoyed. For the Upper Sixth, it is now time for them to step out of Warminster School and onto the next stage of their lives, whilst for the Lower Sixth, it is a time to reflect on the past year and to prepare for life in the Upper Sixth. Thanks are due to Alex Rall and the Catering Department for all of their work, Jon Edkins, to the Y10 and Y11 volunteers who helped on the night, and to all of those who provided entertainment and enjoyment. Everyone had a fantastic time, and it was the perfect way to round off a successful and positive year.”
