GOING DUTCH

If you were following Twitter during half term, you will have kept up to speed with the energetic antics of Warminster Sport and their Dutch adventure.

Warminster Sport took a tour party of 74 on a Hockey Tour to Noordwijk, Holland. The action packed week took in an incredible 24 hockey matches, 3 training sessions, visits to Clara Maria cheese and clog farm, a canal cruise, a premier league hockey match, ten pin bowling, trampolining and golf, time on the beach and not to forget the incredible Duinrell Amusement and Waterpark.

Warminster fielded 6 hockey teams, 2 girls and 4 boys teams against local opposition including, MHC Alliance, HC Saxenburg, HDS Den Haag, HC De Kieviten, HGC Wassenaar HC Castricum, HC Haarlem, MHC Uitgeest and HC Overbos. We achieved a number of wins and draws, but what was more important was the interaction and friendships achieved with our dutch compatriots. The hospitality in every venue was second to none and many of our pupils have come away with new contacts.

Director of Sport, Chris Knight said “I would personally like to thank the staff for giving up their time to support this wonderful trip and for all their efforts on and off the pitch. It was clearly an incredible experience for all.”

“Thank you ‪@WarminsterSport for the amazing hockey tour to Holland. It was an amazing week and I didn't want to leave Noordwijk. It was fab!Archie Fogg
