Equestrian news
On Saturday 4th October, two pupils represented the School at a one day equestrian event at Stonar School.
Riding Fox, a young horse in his first event, Lizzie Mayo (Upper Sixth) had a disappointing dressage but had more success in the show jumping. Meanwhile, Ellie Clarke (Year 10), riding Artic Hero (aka “Boris”), fared better in the dressage and had a clear round in the showjumping. That left the cross country course which both horses found straightforward.
Ellie finished 7th in her class of over forty riders with a score of 32. This was a splendid achievement and she was one of only a few riders to have clear rounds in both jumping phases. Lizzie had a final score of 60 and was pleased with this first effort from Fox.
The girls now look forward to a show jumping event at Dauntsey’s in December.
