CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS

CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS

Last Saturday, Tom C-B, Ben W, Rosie C-B, Chiara G and Adie G all represented Wiltshire at the South West Schools’ AA Cross Country Championships.

Cross Country running is an essential part of most endurance athletes training as it builds both mental and physical toughness. Our pupils all ran brilliantly on a tough course.  Rosie C-B finished 17th overall and 2nd in Wiltshire, qualifying her for the national finals at Pontefract Racecourse on Saturday 16th March to represent Wiltshire.  She will be joined by Tom C-B and Chiara G who both finished in the top 50, 5th and 8th respectively in Wiltshire.

Adie G also finished as 2nd in Wiltshire, but will have to wait for next year as she is currently too young to attend the finals!  Unfortunately Ben W suffered a recurrence of a niggling injury, and will join the reserve list for the finals.  Huge congratulations to the pupils, and thanks to Mrs Gavazzi who manages the Wiltshire Team.
