Headmaster, Mr Matt Williams, updates our community on plans for re-opening

“Across all sectors of education there has been much debate and discussion about the various issues that a phased re-opening poses. After much deliberation and discussion, here at Warminster we have decided upon the following course of action:

From 1st June

Prep and Pre-Prep will be open for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.

From 1st June

As per Government guidance, we are unable to welcome back any Senior School pupils.

The government have indicated that they would wish for some 'face-to-face' time for pupils in Year 10 and L6 at some point after the 15th June. Our current programme of remote learning is offering face-to-face time and we will also be increasing the quantity and frequency of 8×8 video lessons for these two year groups from 15th June. Once we have some clearer guidance, we will take a view on opening the School for Year 10 and L6 pupils for some time in the last three weeks of term.

Our boarding provision will remain closed until next term. We are planning on re-opening boarding in September and are carefully planning for quarantine measures that need to be in place.

Of course, all of this is dependent on the Government decision as to whether their criteria have been met for re-opening, which they will announce on 28th May. Our excellent remote learning package will remain the pillar of the education on offer and pupils who do not return, for any reason, will not be disadvantaged by not physically being in school.

The safety of our community remains our priority during this time. For further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.”
