BIG DRAW GOES SMALL!
The Big Draw this year was based on the theme of ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’. Over 300 pupils and staff from both the Senior and Prep Schools where given the opportunity to communicate a story instantly through a drawing.
Last year pupils produced huge drawings so the Art Department decided to 'go small'. Pupils and staff could draw or sketch onto a luggage label to tell their story as they celebrated the importance of drawing as a visual literacy. Over 400 labels were produced that represented individual drawings ranging from favourite animals, food and places, to heroes and inspirational figures.
The labels will be collated and displayed as a unique installation to represent that drawing is a unique language and by observing the world around you, you gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the world in which you live in.
