ART INSPIRATION
The pupils have been truly inspired this half of term by a number of different Art events. Natalie Clarke our Artist in Residence, held a Masterclass for the Year 10 artists. They produced a mixed media canvas inspired by their current investigations into Still Life and Natural and Man Made Forms. All the pupils produced exciting pieces of work and enjoyed working in a combination of media.
A new series of talks called 'Pop Up Creatives' saw Vera Carbin talking about her work and influences. This was an excellent presentation and allowed the pupils an insight into the creative process. Vera showed us a number of her illustrations and the two Minerva’s Owls which she painted as part of the Bath Sculpture Trail which is running during the summer. If you are in Bath you will have to see if you can spot them.
Congratulations must also go to Hannah Kirwan, one of our Art Scholars who organised an exhibition of Lower School, GCSE and A Level Art work in the Thomas Arnold Hall. This was a wonderful evening and it was delightful to see Hannah’s selection of work from across the Senior School. Hannah was able to raise money for the RUH in Bath by organising this exhibition.
