A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE
Saturday 21st April saw the advent of the inaugural Head Boy and Head Girl dinner hosted by the Headmaster and his wife, Anna.
Former Heads of School gathered for an evening of sharing memories, laughter, and shared experiences some 25 years apart!
Maren Mende (OV06) had flown in from Germany and Jasper Matthews (OV06) flew in from Scotland. Jasper and Maren are big supporters of the OV network and have been back to Warminster frequently since 2015 when the resurgence of the Old Verlucian network began. However, some OVs hadn’t been back since the day they left in 1975. Amanda Osborne (OV75) was the first Head Girl at the newly formed Warminster School when St Monica’s and Lord Weymouth School merged in 1973. This was almost certainly because she was the ONLY girl in her year!
Katherine Ashley (OV85) said, “After thirty plus years, it stirs a mixture of emotions. A cold sweat driving into Warminster and a familiarity even after all this time.”
The sounds of chatting and laughter soon rang around the hall of St Boniface that night and I think it’s safe to say a good time was had by all.
Jasper Matthews said “I wanted to express my thanks for a wonderful evening last weekend. Its always a highlight of my year visiting the School and equally enjoyable to be sharing it in the company of other OVs and staff. So sincere thanks again for hosting a wonderful dinner for us all.”
