A NIGHT AT THE ATH

A NIGHT AT THE ATH

As part of his EPQ project, sixth former, Ben Stone, will present A Night at the Ath’,  a charity concert in aid of the local Wessex MS Therapy Centre on 15 September.

We asked Ben why he chose this for his project and what we can expect from the evening…

“The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) offered in the Sixth Form seemed like the perfect opportunity to put on my own concert. I have always wanted to organise a show, with two older brothers who also play instruments, I’ve been going to (and later performing in) school concerts for 12 years.

A Night at the Ath’  promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment – with musicians from Warminster School and Kingdown School, putting on an excellent programme in aid of a charity close to one of the performers. The Wessex MS Therapy Centre helps those with multiple sclerosis and their families affected physically and emotionally. At the beginning of July, I was able to bring together some of the musicians who will be performing in the concert to a garden party held by the charity. It was great fun to be a part of and to meet the people who run, support and use the centre, showing the brilliant community that the event is supporting.

Expect an entertaining night with talented young musicians showcasing various different genres and styles, including the debut performance of the as yet unnamed new school male acapella group!
