Warminster School pupil Harry Kermode triumphed in the 400m final at the Junior Wessex Championships in Bournemouth on Wednesday. Harry competed against athletes from 25 other prep schools and clocked a time of 62.2 seconds. He now goes on to represent Wessex at the National Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Monday 30th June. Other notable performers were Connie Temple-Brown and Oliver Howard who both came 3rd in their respective High Jump competitions and Alistair Filmore, who reached the finals in both the 100m and 200m.
Warminster School is now hoping that Harry can emulate George Coward's heroics by winning his race and becoming the National Champion at his age group. Good luck, Harry!
