Warminster School Equestrian Team attended their second event at Millfield School on Sunday, 7th February. There were 72 competitors entered in the Show Jumping class, representing 22 schools. Warminster had a fantastic event and were placed first overall as a team and also won first for the individual placings!
Our first team consisted of Kat Riley, Alex Beck and Zoe Symes, all of whom rode superbly and jumped clear. Together the team gained the lowest cumulative time in the jump off. Kat was the fastest, achieving the individual win.
In addition, this event was a ‘qualifier’ which means that the top two teams have qualified to compete in the National Schools Championship at Addington in December, and also to jump at Hickstead in August. I’m sure the team are extremely excited.
The second team consisted of Ellie Riley, Eleanor Taylor and Olivia Bishop, who, although they were not placed, should be congratulated as they represented the school with honour and there was very close competition.
Many thanks also to our Sponsor, Colin Reeves, Director of Wessex Farrier Supplies, for supporting the team.
This is an immense achievement for the team and we are hoping to compete in many other events, including the Millfield JAS competition on
28th February.
