Outstanding GCSE Results for Year 11
Following the success of our Sixth Formers at A Level and the International Baccalaureate earlier this summer, it was the turn of the Year 11 pupils to celebrate today with the publication of their GCSE results.
95% of our Year 11 pupils achieved five or more passes at grades A* to C – a significant rise from last year’s results. The A*-A percentage also rose significantly, from 34.6% in 2007 to 40.4% this year.
There were a huge number of pleasing individual results. Of particular note were Emma Leworthy (8 A*s, 3 As), Martyn Perry (8 A*s, 1 A, 1 B), Nabil Najjar (7 A*s, 3As, 1B) and Emily Keen and Zoe Symes (4 A*s, 5 As, 1B). Many congratulations to them.
The Headmaster, Martin Priestley, said: “I am once again delighted with this set of results. The Sixth Formers had thrown down the gauntlet and the Year 11 pupils have risen to that challenge and can be proud of what they have achieved today. These results prove that Warminster School is producing excellent value-added outcomes and that we continue to stretch the very brightest pupils. We look forward to welcoming them back in September for their A Level and IB studies.”
