With 96% of GCSE students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades and over 45% of all pass grades at A or A*, this is one of the strongest set of results achieved in the school’s history. Warminster School’s Year 11 students have a good deal to celebrate today. Core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science maintained a strong performance, with 99% of all entries achieving a grade C or above. Separate sciences all obtained 100% grade B and above, endorsing the School’s decision to introduce IGCSE Science from September 2010. Excellence was in evidence across the board with a wide range of subjects achieving 100% A* - C pass rate.
Top performing students were Hannah Greening, achieving 9A*s and 2A grades, Joshua Eustace, achieving 8A*s, 2 As and 1B, Rebecca Wicks with 7 A*s, 2 As and 1 B, and Molly Smith for obtaining 6 A*s and 5 As. Commendation also goes to Lauren Clinch for 5 A*s, 5 As and 1 B, and Christopher Stone who obtained 5 A*s and 5 As.
“This truly is an excellent set of results, reflecting the hard work of both students and staff to maintain improvement year on year.” said Martin Priestley, Headmaster. “Students can start their next course of study with confidence, and we look forward to welcoming one of the largest Sixth Form cohorts on record this September. There has been considerable development of the School’s facilities during the holidays, and Sixth Form students at Warminster will enjoy an ideal working environment in which to lay the foundations for successful university application.”
