Introduction

• Biology is the scientific study of living things
• Pupils learn through understanding biological processes
• Practical and investigative exercises are used to support pupils learning
• The subject is taught by experienced and committed staff
• We strive to make the subject interesting and enjoyable

Department Aims

• To develop in our students a keen and developing interest in biology
• To foster in pupils an enthusiasm to learn about living things
• To help our students develop an understanding of biological facts and principles
• To utilize practical work to support and enhance the theoretical learning of the subject
• To highlight the importance of aspects of biology to the many aspects of modern society
• To foster a respect for all forms of life including the well-being of the students themselves
