The Old Vicarage

oldvic.JPG

The Old Vicarage opened in 2001 as Warminster Senior School’s Junior Boarding House accommodating years seven and eight boys and girls. In 2007 the house became the junior boys’ boarding house looking after years seven to nine, with Northdown House accommodating the girls’ years seven to nine. In September 2011, it reverts back to accommodate Yr 7 girls, Yr 7 boys and Yr 8 boys.

The Old Vicarage can cater for up to twenty seven both full time and weekly boarders. Some return home at weekends, while others stay on, often representing the school in sporting and other activities. These small numbers make it easier for staff to get to know the pupils and for the pupils to get to know each other.

The house has seen many changes over the past few years including the purchase of a new 50’ plasma TV for the common room, a new table tennis table and five new computers. These in addition to the many half termly competitions, including pool, table tennis, music and debating makes the house such a vibrant one. The house also embarks on many weekend trips including our annual teambuilding PGL challenge weekend, cinema trips and the ever popular paintballing trip as just a few.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you in September. The Old Vicarage is our home too and whilst you are here, you will be part of our family.

We hope you will help us in making it a safe and happy place to be where everyone matters, and where respect for one another is reflected in the spirit of the House.

All of us here will do our best to help you settle in and enjoy the time you spend as junior boarders at Warminster. Hopefully, you will have many happy memories to take with you when you move on.

Please read this booklet carefully as we hope it will answer some of the questions you may have about boarding.
