Boys from St Boniface, St Denys and Old Vic boarding houses took a trip to Bath to see their Academy team face the London Wasps. It was a cold night, but once inside the Recreation Ground Stadium the boys took their seats and settled in for the game.
Bath started strong, gaining a 12 point lead up until half time. During the second half, Wasps showed drive and determination to overcome a strong Bath side that featured England kicker, Ollie Barkley. Pace and quick passing contributed to Wasps’ offensive game play and it showed in the final score line, Bath 17 – 29 Wasps.
After the game it was back to Warminster for pizza and movies on the big screen in St Boniface Hall.
All boys involved had a great night, and even got the chance to see Rugby royalty, in the form of England flanker, Lewis Moody and 2011 RWC winning kicker Stephen Donald of the All Blacks.
Thank you to Mr Bonnell for organising the trip and to Mr Mace, Mr Culnane, Mr Knapman, Mr Secher and Mr Moffatt for getting us to Bath and back in one piece.
