Mike Thompson is the Head of Department and he has taught at the School for twenty three years . A graduate of the University of Hull and a Fulbright Scholar, he has a special interest in poetry and the novel and is subject co-ordinator at GCSE and A level.
Susie Parrack joined the Department in September 2001 from Marylebone School in London. She is Second in Department and teaches English to IB level. She has a special interest in poetry and drama.
Jean North joined the Department in May 2001. Jean is from South Africa and is an experienced English and History teacher. At Warminster, she is also Head of Religious Studies. She also has professional theatre experience.
James Holiday-Scott has been with the department since 2006. He qualified as a teacher through the Graduate Training Programme in 2004. Educated in Canada he holds a BA in English Literature and a BA in Philosophy. For several years he worked in the IT industry. James teaches English, Philosophy & Ethics, and Critical Thinking to A Level. He is also Gifted & Talented Coordinator for the Middle School.
Sally Pollard
We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Sally Pollard to the English Department. Sally has a degree in English and American Literature from the University of Warwick and initially will be teaching English in Years 7-11. She is also a fluent French speaker and, prior to completing her PGCE, has worked in both the Publishing and the Film industries, editing, marketing and interpreting.
