Children in Prep 3 were evacuated for the day and taken to Swindon Railway Museum. Staff and pupils all dressed in typical 1940’s clothes with gas masks. They immersed themselves in the themed experiences delivered by the museum’s Education Team.
Their History topic ‘The Lives of Children in World War II’ was bought to life through role play and the pupils experienced how some of their Grandparents would have felt as evacuees during the Second World War. This was a fun and thought provoking day for the children allowing them the opportunity to learn in a cross-curricular way.
