To mark the School's three hundredth year, we were invited to Longleat Safari Park by Lord Bath. Lord Bath's ancestor, the first Viscount Weymouth of Longleat founded the School in 1707. Our visiting Comenius delegates joined the 155 excited children. The day was rounded off when the Marquess and Marchioness joined the pupils of the steps of Longleat House.
The head boys and girls, Lily Newman, Hannah Conabeer, Randa Najaar, David Cooper, Harry Selvey and Harry Lee all dressed up in traditional 1707 costume. They read in Latin from a beautiful calf's leather scroll which was then presented to Lord Bath. He responded in Latin and said that the scroll would be kept in the archives of Longleat House. This was a very special day for all the children, and one which they will remember for a very long time.
