The atmosphere in the school is encouraging and friendly; the relationships between staff and children are warm and full of mutual respect. Courtesy, good manners and good behaviour are insisted on at all times.
Our aim is that the children should be relaxed, happy and fulfilled, and get the most possible out of the many opportunities we can offer them, while at the same time contributing whatever they can to life at Warminster Prep School.
Although most of the children move on to the Senior School at the end of Year 6, children are also successfully prepared for entry into a range of other schools, including Salisbury Grammar School, Dauntsey's and King Edward's Bath.
Academic
At Warminster Prep School small classes ensure good progress, individual attention and support. We aim to encourage each child to develop a sense of achievement and self-worth, together with a positive attitude and high expectations. The learning in the Prep School is centred on YOUR child, and we place the emphasis on how well they perform against their own ability, not how they compare against their peers.

Sport
At Warminster we guarantee that all children will represent the school in every sport in every term. We field numerous teams and encourage healthy competition for team selection.
|
Music
‘Music for all’ is a fundamental principle of the department’s work. Participation in instrumental and choral ensembles inspires loyalty, confidence and an appreciation of quality. All pupils follow a course based on the essential skills of PERFORMING, LISTENING and COMPOSING.
|
Drama
The Prep School Drama Club was formed in 1980, with the purpose of extending pupils’ awareness and encouraging self-confidence and individuality through drama, mime, improvisation and traditional theatre skills.
|
Art
Confident, expressive and sensitive drawing underpin all the pupils work whether it is painting, printmaking, sculpture or ceramics. Children are taught how to read and understand paintings by a variety of artists and craftspeople. This art department challenges and nurtures creative enquiring young minds.

Learning Support
The learning support department at Warminster Prep School provides a happy, secure framework to support the special needs of children with dyslexia and a range of other specific learning difficulties. The pupils are fully integrated within the whole school curriculum.
