The music department is situated in two buildings on the school site; Church Street and Boniface. Teaching takes place in both buildings, as do rehearsals. Often, the department uses local theatres and churches to perform to larger audiences, and each year "takes over" the Sports Hall for the annual Cabaret evening in March.
Church Street
Home to the music office, 4 instrumental teaching and practice rooms and an instrument and
music store, this is always a busy place!
Boniface
Boniface contains 2 academic teaching classrooms, Boniface Chapel, and Boniface Rehearsal Room.
Teaching Rooms
Both teaching rooms contain interactive whiteboards, each with Sibelius 6 notation software. One classroom contains 7 computers, also with Sibelius 6, and a Steinway grand piano, while the other classroom is equipped with 15 electronic keyboards used for Key Stage 3 keyboard skills.
Boniface Chapel
Used for boarding chapel on Sundays, and concerts such as the Candlelit Christmas Carols, Boniface Chapel is a wondeful home for Warminster Singers, who regularly rehearse there; the acoustic makes it perfect for choral singing. The chapel is also home to a 2-manual organ, and a grand piano.
Boniface Rehearsal Room
This room is in almost constant use, whether it is for larger ensemble rehearsals such as Big Band and Concert Band, or a space for soloists to practice their instruments. The room is equipped with a projector, surround sound system, grand piano, and many other instruments!
Other venues
External venues that are often used by the music department for concerts and shows include The Minster Church, Warminster; The Athanaeum Centre, Warminster; and, The Merlin Theatre, Frome.
