Warminster School CCF Rifles Report
The past 2 years in Warminster School CCF has been very eventful, from a battlefield tour to Berlin to various military skills weekends, it’s been a great year.

CCF Summer Camp 22-26 August 2011
This year’s summer camp differed from previous traditional military camps usually held in the first week of the summer holidays due in part to the clash with the choir tour to Italy, the expedition to Norway and booked family holidays. It was decided an adventure training expedition would be organised to take place at Okehampton, Devon towards the end of the holiday period. It was felt this would perhaps be both beneficial to parents and cadets alike! It was also felt for those cadets intent on getting involved in future ‘ten tors’ competitions this would be an ideal introduction to the type of terrain they could expect to encounter.

Army Sixth Form Scholarship awarded to Mark Bennett
Following his achievement in being awarded the role of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet at a ceremony at Devizes Town Hall in 2010, and soon after being asked to accompany the Lord Lieutenant for a Royal engagement with Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall, Mark has now gained another military accolade. CCF Summer Camp 2010
For the CCF summer camp this year we were accommodated at RAF St Mawgan near Newquay. For many years the camp has traditionally taken place at Holywell Bay, Penhale on the western side of Newquay overlooking the sea and close to the popular holiday resort of Perranporth. Unfortunately this site is being sold off by the MOD hence the move to RAF St Mawgen.
