The Department is located on the first floor of School House, the original building of Lord Weymouth School founded in 1707, and is a fitting venue for the major History Room at Warminster. History is also taught in Weymouth House, and in other classrooms throughout the School.
Departmental Staff
Mrs Sue Marklew BA (Hons) London PGCE. Head of Department. Mrs Marklew is also the Deputy Head (Pastoral). She teaches History at GCSE and A Level. Her special subjects are Anglo Saxon England and the Tudors.
Mr Graeme McQueen MA (Hons) Dundee PGCE. Mr McQueen is also Head of Sixth Form. He teaches throughout the School, including I.B.History at Higher Level. He is an assistant examiner for AQA. His special Subjects are sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe and The Holocaust.
Ms Judy Hallam Ba (Hons) Reading. PGCE RSA DELTA. Ms Hallam is also Head of E.F.L. She teaches History up to IB Standard and Higher Level. Ms Hallam has taught at the Universities of Beijing and Washington, worked for the European Union in Prague, and has taught Business in France and India. Ms Hallam has also been employed as a language and teacher trainer in Bath. She is the author of several books, and is a specialist of writing for overseas students' Historical studies. Ms Hallam has taught at Beneden and James Allen Girls' School. Her special subjects are the Twentieth Century, Roman Britain and Social and Economic History.
