Shortly after arrival, all overseas students are assessed and information is passed on to subject teachers with whom close links are maintained. Subject teachers recognise and accept the difficulties that our students may encounter and offer support and encouragement.
Students study in small groups and receive plenty of individual attention. Their language needs are assessed and focused on. Competence in all four major skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking is aimed for and learners also work on their English grammar. They are taught how to build up their vocabulary and record it for future reference.
Lessons take place during the normal school timetable. They are geared to meet the needs and learning styles of each pupil in a friendly atmosphere of positive achievement.
Students are provided course books and a range of language material chosen according to their level. Study skills and examination technique are also taught. If required, one-to-one lessons may be arranged as extra tuition.
