This is a largely practical examination supported by documentary portfolios of written work. The course is taught in three parts:
Part 1: The student uses Drama to express his or her feelings and ideas about a range of issues and topics. Written portfolio of documentary evidence to support.
Part 2: The student looks at a play to see how a playwright expresses their ideas about a theme or topic, and explores ways of making the play successful on stage. Written portfolio of documentary evidence to support.
Part 3: Finally, the student has the choice of being involved in the performance of a play from an existing script or from one they create themselves. This is assessed by an external exam moderator.
